New chaplain comes to Goshen Center for Cancer Care

Andrea Hickey, M.Div., joins the Center for Cancer Care team as a chaplain to provide spiritual care services to patients and their families. Prior to joining Goshen Health, Andrea was a pastor in a congregation for six years and has also worked in children’s and youth ministry. She believes that a chaplain can provide spiritual care through listening to your story and reflecting with you on how God has been present.

Chaplain services include:

  • Providing support in spiritual distress or an existential crisis
  • Facilitating Religious/Spiritual rituals (i.e. communion, anointing for healing)
  • Providing Scripture Reading
  • Fostering Spiritual Healing
  • Coordinating Spiritual Support with one’s spiritual leader/spiritual community
  • Listening to life experiences
  • Providing prayer and meditation practice

I am honored to hear each person’s story and touched by the holy moments when God meets us in pain and in healing.
